CHRIS

Both sides of Chris’ family were musically orientated, particularly his mother’s. His uncle Dolph was a double bass player in bands from the 1930’s to the ‘50s, and he taught Chris the bass. The family would often have musical gatherings, and Chris also learned the piano, bagpipes and singing.

Chris went on to electric bass guitar and played all styles of music – Folk, Country, Rock, Metal, Punk, Glam Rock and New Romantic, playing with bands and as a session musician for the last 25 years.

In the ‘70s he played with probably one of the first tribute bands – TARAZARA – doing T-Rex covers and glam tracks, which went on to great acclaim as T-REXTASY led by DanielZ.

He later played with a plethora of different bands, including LINDISFARNE, and in the early ‘80s formed an original New Wave band playing and recording in Sheffield.

Chris is a founder member of HIGHLY STRUNG, re-creating the solid sound of Martin Kemp at the heart of the rhythm section.

He lives in a rural location and enjoys outdoor activities, acquiring and restoring vintage farm machinery, and has a collection of tractors. Actually Chris is a hoarder – he has collections of everything!
